Currently the disease has a dangerously low profile, but we are looking to change that through our dedicated team of volunteers and trustees who ensure that every pound raised is invested effectively to put the brakes on the UK's second-biggest cancer killer.

Harpenden Spotlight on Africa works in partnership with an experienced team on the ground, alongside local government and community leaders, HSoA delivers projects in challenging environments, transforming the lives of some of the poorest people in Africa. HSoA works in four areas: education, health, clean water and economic development, meeting basic needs and allowing people to build fulfilling lives.

As a charity we are strongly focussed on individuals, with the goal of making a positive impression on those impacted by Ehlers-Danlos syndromes. We provide support by actively advocating and educating the general public and medical community; financially supporting individual sufferers and their families through offering grants; and with the hope of contributing to vital clinical future research activities to help save lives and improve individual sufferers' quality of lives.
